News - Shanghai gets new contemporary art museum

Shanghai is about to get a new contemporary art museum. The Rockbund Art Museum, located on the just renovated Bund, is due to open early May with a show of Cai Guo-Qiang’s works. The new museum is intended as an international platform for the promotion and exchange of contemporary art. It is housed in a gorgeous 1932 Art Deco building, whose exterior combines both western and Chinese elements.
