The fair will showcase a range of contemporary artwork by emerging artists – from painting and photography to video art, sculpture, and installations – in the intimacy of luxury hotel suites at the Conrad Centennial Hotel. Forty rooms will be converted to art galleries. Each suite will contain a private exhibition, in which fair-goers can expect to view work on beds, walls, windows, floors, tabletops, chairs, armoires and more.

This will allow visitors the opportunity to visualize the conversation between art and home décor rather than in the typical white wall gallery setting, fair organizer and director Rosalind Lim said. Additional work will also be displayed in the hotel’s main atrium.

In total, the fair will have about 40 galleries in the exhibition, says Lim, with about 25 of them from Korea. “Korean galleries are very savvy at hotel fairs as they are the pioneers for those in Asia. There are about 3-5 hotel art fair in Korea each years,” she noted.

Beyond a diverse range of mediums, the fair plans to present artists from around the world. Worlds Apart is organized by A Kiss Inc, a local branding, marketing and events

Lim said the timing of the fair was chosen to coincide with other major art and cultural activities in Singapore that month. The established Art Stage Singapore is running Jan 25-27.

Worlds Apart Fair 2013 will run 25-27 January.
