Opening - Jirapat Tatsanasomboon @ Thavibu in Bangkok

Thai painter Jirapat Tatsanasomboon has been regularly appropriating images of well-known European and American masterpieces and making them his own by inserting readily identifiable Thai iconography has a commentary on Thai society. His latest exhibition, Camouflage, at Thavibu will open on Sep 17 and it has a few interesting paintings, reinteprating Matisse, Warhold and Rousseau, to name a few. Some work better than others. But I especially like Defining Love (photo), based on a Robert Indianna's famous pop art work.
