Oh Chai Hoo - Life-bearing Rock


Husband-and-wife Oh Chai Hoo and Chua Chon Hee will be showcasing their latest works of ceramics, prints and Chinese ink paintings inspired by nature at Utterly Art gallery in Singapore.



Oh Chai Hoo - Flowing Rock

Chon Hee’s prints are delicate imprints of plant parts on gold and silver paper, while Chai Hoo is exhibiting an entirely novel set of ink paintings blown or squirted out with a slip trailer, a device normally used in ceramics. The show opens on Thursday.

Chua Chon Hee - Golden Leaves

Oh Chai Hoo graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. He has exhibited extensively in Singapore, China, Japan, Taiwan and Korea, and has six solo shows under his belt. He has been awarded a Distinction in Visual Art Creation by the NAFA Alumni Association (1992), Highly Commended in Abstract Medium at the 18th UOB Painting of the Year competition (1999) and obtained the Siaw-Tao Achievement Award in 2009.


Chua Chon Hee - Silver Pods

Chua Chon Hee graduated from the Nayang Academy of Fine Arts the same years than her husband . She has exhibited extensively with the Nanyang Clay Group and the Printmaking Society (Singapore). Her works can be found at several hotels in Singapore and Myanmar, and at the National University Hospital in Singapore.
