Evolution,- "They" solo exhibition just opened at Beyond Art Space in Beijing. "They" Art group is formed by Yang Xiaogang and Lai Sheng, and this exhibition displays paintings, photographs (the photographer Chen Li cooperates with They) and a video which show their art works in recent years.
The artists like to reflect on the issue of ubranization and modernity and question of their own cultural identity. Their works are endowed with a sense of distance and time and are permeated with nostalgia. For people living in the city, nostalgia is a dream to find a spiritual home.
